This self-paced online training program focuses on best practices in the Evaluation for Child Custody. This program will provide an introduction to and overview of custody and parenting evaluations, and will address advanced topics, including: relocation requests, allegations of intimate partner violence, child sexual abuse, and alienation. Participants will learn how to effectively manage pre-evaluation contacts with attorneys, litigants, and the court; how to develop a detailed statement of understanding; and how to conduct forensic interviews of adults and children. Report writing, testimony, and risk management procedures will also be addressed.
This training program is relevant for attorneys who work with psychologists, psychiatrists, and other mental health professionals who conduct child custody evaluations. Of course, the primary audience for this workshop are professionals who conduct child custody or family court evaluations or those wishing to add child custody evaluation to their clinical practice; however, attorneys who take this training will leave with a great deal of useful information regarding the custody evaluation process. This training program is appropriate for beginner, intermediate, and advanced level clinicians.
