Assessment of Risk for Violence in Juveniles

$300.00

6 Hours | 6 CEs

Program Description

We are pleased to offer a selection of recorded workshops by the American Academy of Forensic Psychology (AAFP). These were presented as live workshops and recorded for online distribution. Unlike our typical professional training programs, these recordings do not include any interactive components or supplemental materials and are more akin to old-school CE than premium professional training.

The assessment of risk for violence in juveniles is pertinent for many court proceedings including transfer to the adult criminal justice system.  This workshop includes examination of relevant case law, risk assessment measures, best practice in evaluation procedures, and communication of data and opinions to judges, attorneys, and probation officers.  Related topics (e.g., psychopathy, treatment amenability, and risk management programming) are addressed as well, as are issues related to adolescents’ biological, psychological, and social development.

The fee for this training program is $300 and includes all materials. In addition, case studies and other case-relevant materials are provided for training purposes. Participants should expect to commit approximately 6 hours to complete this training program. At the end of the training program, there is a quiz that must be passed with a 70% in order to advance in the course. Once the course is completed participants will complete a course evaluation and then will be able to print their certificate of completion.

The intended audience includes psychologists, psychiatrists, and social workers working with juvenile justice-involved adolescents.
