At CONCEPT, our mission is to provide world-class online professional training and education in areas relevant to forensic mental health to professionals around the world. We also work from a mindset of abundance and a belief that it is our responsibility to give back to the profession and to our community. We have implemented several strategies to give back to our profession and our community.
Psychology Law Evidence Database (PLED)
The Psychology Law Evidence Database (PLED) is one initiative supported by CONCEPT. The PLED is a comprehensive, continuously updated, freely available database of selected scientific papers about psychology and law for policy makers, stakeholders, the general public, practitioners, and researchers.
Our primary mission is to provide world-class professional training on topics and issues relevant to professionals working within the forensic system. We understand that the lack of accessible high-quality professional training, the limited number of graduate programs in forensic psychology and other related disciplines, and the competitive nature of the graduate programs that do exist all converge to result in professionals who are under-prepared to take on forensic practice. We also know that there is a need for well-trained professionals in this important field. As a result, we offer training scholarships for graduate students (within and outside of forensic programs) interested in obtaining high-quality forensic training. If you would like to apply for one of these scholarships to complete one of our professional training courses, please click below for more information.
CE Credit at Professional Conferences
CONCEPT partners with various professional organizations, known for their high-quality and commitment to the field, to provide CE Credit for their conference sessions at no cost to the organization. Psychologists are able to collect CE credit for eligible sessions that they attend at these conferences. A nominal administration fee is processed for each participant who takes advantage of this CE opportunity to cover the costs associated with our record keeping responsibilities and maintenance of our continuing education provider status but CONCEPT does not make a profit on this service. We simply provide this service as a means of giving back to our profession. Conferences at which we provide this service include: the annual meeting of the American Psychology-Law Society (AP-LS; Division 41, APA); the North American meetings of the International Association of Forensic Mental Health Services (IAFMHS); and the annual meeting of the Canadian Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (CATAP).
